Psychosocial Support

Latinas Contra Cancer (LCC) provides the only Spanish language psychosocial support group for cancer patients and their families in Santa Clara County.

The topics covered in the support group include:

  • impact of a cancer diagnosis on the family
  • improving communication
  • balancing emotional and physical needs
  • understanding distress and depression
  • stress management
  • anger management
  • intimacy after cancer
  • spirituality and cancer

Activities chosen by participants includes yoga, meditation, and lessons on nutrition, healthy cooking and survivor ship.

Sessions are the first and third Tuesday of the month. For more information interested participants or family members can email or call (408) 280-0811.

In addition to the support group and patient navigation, LCC provides one on one patient counseling, resources and referrals.

Latinas Contra Cancer is receiving an increasing number of requests from Mexico, Central and Latin American countries to help with cancer patient support and expenses for treatment. Unfortunately we depend on small grants to keep our work going and regret that we are unable to respond to requests outside of Santa Clara County at this time.
