Community Health Workers (CHWs)
CHWs are unlicensed, trained health educators who work with individuals who may have difficulty understanding providers due to cultural or language barriers to connect them with the services they need. CHWs include individuals known by a variety of job titles, including promotores, community health representatives, navigators, violence prevention professionals, substance use navigators, and behavioral health navigators, among other titles.
At Latinas Contra Cancer we are contracted through Medi-Cal to provide CHW services to people with a variety of health challenges. Currently, our CHWs support our Patient Navigation and Health Education programs.
Whether you need guidance on preventive care, chronic disease management, or accessing the right providers, our team is here to support you every step of the way. We work closely with communities to break down barriers to care—because healthcare should be clear, accessible, and empowering for everyone.
