Survivor support

Latinas Contra Cancer is raising awareness about cancer in the Latino community, increasing access to quality care, working to decrease mortality rates and improving the quality of the health care experience.

At Latinas Contra Cancer we are building a community of survivors. Through our monthly support groups and regular community events encouraging self-care and healthy lifestyle for survivors and their families, we hold a space for our community that is welcoming and appreciative of our culture and language.

The topics covered in the support group include:

  • Understanding distress and depression
  • Stress management
  • Anger management
  • Intimacy after cancer
  • Spirituality and cancer

Activities chosen by participants includes yoga, meditation, and lessons on nutrition, healthy cooking and survivorship.

Sessions are the first and third Tuesday of the month. For more information email or call (408) 280-0811.

In addition to the support group and patient navigation, LCC provides one on one patient counseling, resources and referrals.

Throughout the year our team hosts free spa days, beauty days,  DIY events on making chemical or toxic personal products and fun events for the whole family aimed at teaching Latino households how to limit exposure to cancer causing chemicals or products.
